History & About AmsterDans
AmsterDans was founded in 2016 to provide a stage for amateur dance schools to showcase their talent, push their limits, and connect with a global community of dancers, teachers, and choreographers. It quickly became the Netherlands’ premier international dance competition.
Over the years, AmsterDans has evolved into a distinguished annual event, welcoming participants from around the world. From amateurs and emerging talents to pre-professional dancers, competitors have the opportunity to earn scholarships, traineeships, choreographic opportunities, and other prestigious awards in collaboration with leading dance institutions.
While the competition remains at the heart of the event, the masterclasses offer dancers the chance to train with renowned teachers, further enriching their artistic and educational experience.
Under the direction of Savina Marasi and Gary Feingold, AmsterDans continues to inspire excellence in dance, creating an unforgettable weekend that can truly shape a dancer’s journey. Don’t miss the 9th edition on 14–15 March 2026 at Podium Mozaïek in Amsterdam – a true celebration of the passion and artistry of dance!
